Why might a Zaveri Bazaar jeweller quote more than this page?
The shop sets its own board and its own making charges. A design, a stone or wastage can raise the bill. This page prices the metal only, so a higher quote is not a Mumbai premium we have measured.
Does this Mumbai page include 3% GST and making charges?
The cards open on the rate excluding GST. Switch on 3% GST to add tax on the metal. Making charges are in neither view. A recognised hallmark centre bills the jeweller ₹75 per gold article. That is the centre’s charge to the shop, not a fee the law sets for you.
What should I check on a Mumbai jewellery bill?
Purity, net weight in grams, the rate used, making charges and GST. Where the hallmark order applies, match the 6-character HUID. A piece under 2 g sits outside that order. Keep the bill.
What is one tola at a Mumbai counter?
One tola on this page is 11.66 grams. Ten grams is a little under a tola. If a counter still says “tola” for 10 g, ask them to write the grams on the bill before you compare it with these cards.
